Loading a top loading electric kiln

When loading a top loading electric kiln, and your not sure if the pieces are too tall and may hit the lid here is an idea for you to try.

Just take a dowel rod or a broom stick, anything that is round and will fit the span across the top of your kiln..and roll it along the opening. While it rolls you will be able to notice how close pieces are to where the lid will be, that way there is no “guess work” about the lid touching the pieces.
