Need a good trimming tool?

Pottery tip of the day:

Need a good trimming tool? Use jar and bottle lids. A small drink bottle lid (like a metal beer bottle lid) inside of a jar lid (like a jelly jar) makes a wonderful trimming tool. Put the larger lid on top of the piece you are trimming and then put the bottle lid inside of that. Place your finger inside the bottle lid and it will stay stationary while the larger lid revolves around with the pot. So it disperses evenly the pressure on the bottom of the pot. I like to keep a wide range of jar and bottle lid sizes in the studio, you never know what size you will need next.

Could you post a picture with this? I’m having a hard time envisioning what you are describing. It would be helpful if the originators of the tips were posted — that way in cases like this where the reader is uncertain of how to do the tip properly, they could contact the originator of the tip themselves.
