Rehydrate dried out clay

Pottery tip of the day:

Dried block of clay? A good way to rehydrate it is…open the bag and pour water over the clay until almost full and close. Then immerse the closed/sealed bag into a bucket of water. Almost overnight you will have nice, soft clay.

If it’s just hard and not totally dried out, just wrap a big soaking towel around the pug of clay and put it in a big plastic garbage bag, closed it and check it in a day or two. It also works to make a few good sized holes in the block and fill them with water, reseal.
