How to make a rolling stamp –Barbara Rost Sears

POTTERY TIP OF THE DAY:

(by Barbara Rost Sears )

To make interesting impressions in slab work, I make my own rollers from a cardboard tube such as TP or paper towels come on. The tubes can be cut to the size you need. If the cardboard tube is flimsy, I stuff it solidly with newspaper to firm it up. Then with my glue gun, I make designs all around the roll. Voila…bas relief is ready to roll over a slab. In Walmart the plastic produce bags come on about a 3″ roller and I grab those when they are empty. They are extremely heavy duty.

THANKS BARBARA!!!
